After placing inside the Top 15 in Q2 on Saturday, Sergio García Dols started the Aragón Grand Prix well. The Spanish rider stayed close to the leading group in the first half of the race, but as his tyres began to wear down he would lose positions, finally crossing the line 19th.
Ryusei Yamanaka, who took off from 30th on the grid, was able to climb six positions and finish the race in 24th. The Japanese kept a steady pace and progressed up the order at the end of a tough weekend.
Following the Aragón GP, Sergio García Dols remains 15th in the overall standings with 37 points. Ryusei Yamanaka is 24th with 13 points.
Aragon GP 2020 – Moto3 Race – Riders statements
Sergio García Dols
“Off the start I was able to follow the lead group, but little by little I lost pace. I was trying not to lose contact, but I was overtaken by several riders and was unable to regain ground. I am not satisfied at all with the race I had. I hope that next weekend we can redeem ourselves with a good result.”
Ryusei Yamanaka
“This was a very difficult weekend. I had never been in this situation before, of being in pain since Friday and with everything up against me. My start was not bad at all, and I was able to gain some places on the fast corners. Even so, I didn’t have the pace this weekend, the feeling with the bike was not good and the setup was bad. It was hard to push like we normally do and now it’s time to change things for next week.”
