Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) won an exciting British GP that was fought to the end and affected by rain on the final laps. Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Brad Binder (KTM) rounded off the podium at Silverstone.
Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia), Maverick Viñales (Aprilia), Jorge Martín (Ducati), Luca Marini (Ducati), Jack Miller (KTM), Johann Zarco (Ducati) and Raúl Fernández (Aprilia) completed the Top 10 at the British Grand Prix.
With this result, Pecco Bagnaia extends his lead in the series and is 41 points ahead of nearest rival Jorge Martín.
The next round of the MotoGP World Championship will be held in two weeks’ time at Austria’s Red Bull Ring.
Bittersweet Grand Prix for Repsol Honda Team
After not competing in the most recent Sunday races, Marc Márquez faced the British GP with the aim of finishing with a good feeling and collecting as much data as possible with his Honda. He had a positive start in which he overtook several riders, and the Repsol Honda Team man remained in the Top 10 until he suffered a small crash when rain appeared with five laps to go.
Joan Mir adopted the same approach of adapting to the bike and the electronics, lap-by-lap. However, after losing places off the start, he also crashed -on the third lap- which prevented him from accumulating kilometres on his RC213V.

Statements
Marc Márquez
“Our race was complicated from the start as I lost my right wing when I had a small contact in the first lap. Then I crashed in an unlucky situation with Bastianini, but it was the type of crash where you don’t lose any confidence. Without one wing I was losing a lot under acceleration but at one point in the race it started to rain and I was able to make up some ground to the other riders. Aside from this, the weekend was not so bad when we look at our approach and what we were able to do in the race before the crash. We keep working, building our confidence and following our plan.”
Joan Mir
“It was not the comeback I had wanted. The start was not good and I lost a lot of positions at the start. Then the feeling, especially under braking, was not what I was expecting and the bike was very nervous. I ran on as a result of this and fell in the gravel. Unfortunately, that’s our Sunday. We need to check everything well with the team and the engineers to improve for the upcoming weekend in Austria. Fortunately I was not hurt in the crash, this is important.”
