‘Pecco’ Bagnaia completed a double at the Austrian Grand Prix, following up on his sprint race win with victory in the race itself. He was followed across the line by Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini.
In a fast race, Martín, Bagnaia and Bastianini broke away early. Bagnaia waited until the latter stages to pull completely clear of Martin for the win. Bastianini completed the podium.
Behind them, the fight for fourth position brought together up to seven riders, and Marc Márquez managed to recover -after colliding with Franco Morbidelli on the first corner of the race- to take the position, aided by problems for riders ahead of him.
The Top 10 was rounded off by Brad Binder, Marco Bezzecchi, Maverick Viñales, Franco Morbidelli, Aleix Espargaró and Álex Márquez.
The MotoGP World Championship now heads to Spain for the Aragon Grand Prix, from September 30th-31st-01st.
More learning for Repsol Honda
The Repsol Honda riders had mixed fortunes at the Red Bull Ring.
Joan Mir got off the line well to gain several positions, and fought for the points positions until the last lap, but in the final stretch he was unable to attack the group of riders ahead of him. He took the chequered flag in 17th position.
Luca Marini struggled at the start and, when he was beginning to make a comeback, had to withdraw from the race on Lap 6 due to mechanical problems.

Statements
Joan Mir
«It was a really challenging race today and we did what we could with the situation in front of us. There are still some areas that we need to keep working on and a few of our issues were made more challenging at this track. But the important part is the information, and I am looking to the future for what is to come from HRC. Now is the moment to stay focused and keep working through our things.»
Luca Marini
«Not too much to say about today. We had an issue with the bike that we need to explore deeper before the next race, I could feel it from the start of the race. Aside from this we have had a very good and important weekend here. When you have something like this on Sunday you have to take a step back and look at the whole weekend – which has been positive. Now we have a busy time period and a lot of work and races until the end of the year.»
