The British Grand Prix came to an end with another win for Enea Bastianini. The Italian got away from Pecco Bagnaia and Jorge Martín to earn victory at Silverstone.
Bagnaia set a fast early pace that only Martín, Aleix Espargaró, Bastianini and Marc Márquez could keep up with. Behind them, Luca Marini and Joan Mir again were in the fight for thirteenth place.
As the laps went by, Bagnaia, Martín and Bastianini established the Top 3, with the latter taking advantage of his rivals slowing each other down. He tussled with Martin for the win, building on his triumph in Saturday’s sprint with a full race win.
The Top 10 at Silverstone was completed by Marc Márquez, Di Giannantonio, Espargaró, Alex Márquez, Bezzecchi, Acosta and Morbidelli.
The MotoGP World Championship now begins the second half of the season.
Another good race for Luca Marini
Both Luca Marini and Joan Mir made great starts, riding in the points from the first laps onwards with the Freddy Spencer special livery (1983).
At the halfway point of the race, Marini was leading the group in 13th position, while Mir was ahead of Fernandez, Morbidelli and Zarco before a mechanical problem forced the Spaniard to retire.
Marini was able to hold on to claim one point, despite suffering a sharp drop in tyre performance, repeating his 15th place finish from the last round at Sachsenring. A penalty after race send him to 17th place.
The next stop for the MotoGP series will be Austria. The Red Bull Ring will host the 11th round of the season on August 16-18th.

Statements
Joan Mir
“My feelings in the race were my best feelings of the whole weekend. We modified the setting a bit and it was the right choice. I was just behind Luca, controlling the rear tyre life and waiting for the best moment to make a move. Unfortunately, when Morbidelli went past I had a warning come up on the dash and I had to retire. Now we check the bike. It’s a shame because I think I could have scored points today.”
Luca Marini
“It’s nice to be able to stay as fighting to be the first Honda through all the weekend, this is a good step compared to where we have been. We are still very far from where we want to be, but I think we getting more and more information on where and how to work. Today we struggled in the opening laps, but from the middle of the race we were quite competitive compared to the group.”
It is an excellent variant
