The second day of the Dutch TT saw Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati) take pole -his first of the season- for the sprint race and for the main race on Sunday.
After a free practice in which the riders were able to get their bikes ready, qualifying took place. Early in Q2, Jorge Martín broke the circuit record with a time of 1:30.877, which Bagnaia managed to lower to 1:30.540. Jorge Martín (Ducati) and Maverick Viñales (Viñales) round off the front row of the grid.
The Top 10 was completed by Álex Márquez (Ducati), Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia), Fabio Di Giannantonio (Aprilia), Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati), Márc Márquez (Ducati), Franco Morbidelli (Ducati), Brad Binder (KTM) and Pedro Acosta (GasGas).
The sprint race will take place on Saturday at 3pm (CEST).
Morning of progress for Repsol Honda Team
After struggling on Friday, Joan Mir and Luca Marini worked hard to get the most out of their bikes in the Saturday morning sessions.
Mir managed to put in solid laps in Q1, and came close to making his way into Q2. However, it was not quite enough, and he will start from the seventh row of the grid, in 20th place.
Marini had a morning similar to that of his teammate, having to go through Q1 to fight for a spot in Q2. The Repsol Honda Team rider was also unable to complete a good time attack lap to make the cut. He will start from 21st place, just behind Mir.
