After an intense day of practice on Friday, the MotoGP riders took to the track on Saturday ready to fight for strong grid positions for the weekend.
Jorge Martín was the fastest in the qualifying session, taking pole position with a record lap of 1:29.919. Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Maverick Viñales (Aprilia) rounded off the front row for the French Grand Prix.
The riders who completed the Top 10 in the morning session were: Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati), Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati), Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia), Pedro Acosta (GasGas), Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), Franco Morbidelli (Ducati ) and Enea Bastianini (Ducati).
The premier class rider will return to the track at 3pm CEST on Saturday for the sprint race.
Morning of intense work for Mir and Marini
The Repsol Honda Team riders ended the morning free practice session with a seventeenth position for Joan Mir and twelfth for Luca Marini. Both went into Q1, and struggled to improve their feeling.
However, none of the Repsol Honda riders managed to set a consistent time attack lap, and Mir will start from 18th, with Marini 21st.
