A fast-paced race at Le Mans in the French Grand Prix saw Jorge Martín, Marc Márquez and Pecco Bagnaia put on a tremendous show until the last lap. Martín closed a perfect weekend with victory, with Márquez and Bagnaia rounding off the podium.
Behind them, Bastianini, Viñales, Di Giannantonio, Morbidelli, Binder, Espargaró and Álex Márquez completed the Top 10.
With this result, Martín extends his World Championship lead to 38 points, ahead of Bagnaia and 40 points clear of Márquez, who climbs to third in the standings.
In two weeks, the MotoGP World Championship returns to Spain with the Catalan Grand Prix, from May 24 to 26th.
Marini sixteenth in France
The French Grand Prix was once again a tough test for the Repsol Honda Team riders. Starting from eighteenth position, Joan Mir got off the line well, and after the opening laps was in the points. However, a crash after the halfway point ended his day.
Luca Marini managed to get his bike to the finish line again. The Italian completed the race in sixteenth position, just outside the points.

Statements
Joan Mir
“The important thing to take away from today is the feeling that I had on the bike. After yesterday and the issue we had, it was great to be able to make another step with the setting and have a good pace in the race. I was able to confirm my feelings and I want to say thanks to the Repsol Honda Team for their work today, they provided me with a bike where I could attack. It’s important to remain focused on the positive, which is the pace we showed and the work we are doing. Now we go to Mugello to check a few things.”
Luca Marini
“It was another long race for us where we are working on those same areas that are troubling us. We can see that Joan, who was doing a great race until he fell, is able to make a big step over the course of the weekend. I am missing this step a little bit so we need to understand that. I am looking forward to Mugello for the test. I am sure that we can find something there and bring it into Barcelona.”
