Fourth consecutive victory for Bagnaia

2024 German GP MotoGP Race Results

The German Grand Prix offered excitement until the end, with the fourth consecutive victory for Pecco Bagnaia after Assen, Barcelona and Mugello. The Italian rode almost the entire race in second position, behind the winner of Saturday’s sprint race, Jorge Martín. The Spaniard’s error, two laps from the end, allowed Bagnaia a look in, and the race winner moves 10 points clear at the top of the standings.

Two brothers completed the podium in the premier class for the first time since 1997, when  Repsol Honda team rider Takuma Aoki shared the rostrum with Nobuatsu Aoki. Marc Márquez made a great comeback from 13th on the grid to finish in second position, alongside brother Álex in third.
Behind them, Bastianini, Morbidelli, Oliveira, Acosta, Bezzechi, Binder and Fernández completed the Top 10.
The MotoGP World Championship now takes a break of almost a month, returning at the beginning of August with the British Grand Prix.

Marini places sixteenth

The German Grand Prix confirmed the progress of Luca Marini who, after completing his best sprint race of the season on Saturday, enjoyed his best Sunday performance of 2024.
Starting from 18th, Marini fought for the points until the last lap, finally finishing 16th -0.0037s off the rider ahead of him.
Joan Mir‘s hard work throughout the weekend did not receive the result he had hoped for. Despite constant adjustments to the setup of his Honda, he was not able to ride comfortably and finally crossed the finish line 19th.

Statements

Joan Mir

“We have to use this weekend to understand what happened and how to avoid it in the future. Again, I was unable to unlock my full potential and I was struggling more than the other Honda riders. A long race, a tough race and one to learn a lot from. The team and I have already been looking through the data and we have some ideas on what to change in the future. We don’t stop working, we don’t stop trying and aim to come back in Silverstone stronger.”

Luca Marini

“I am happy with what we have done in the first half of the year overall, this is the most important thing. Of course, I didn’t expect to struggle so much but we are starting to turn things around now. Our effort from the opening races is starting to pay off and now we have to see what’s going to come after the summer break. The gap to first today is good, the track plays a part, but we are making improvements. Everyone in Honda is working together in the same direction, let’s keep it up after a short break.”
