Jorge Martín took pole position for the Indonesian Grand Prix, after an eventful Q2 at Mandalika. He will be joined on the front row of the grid by Marco Bezzecchi and Pedro Acosta, whilst his main title rivals will be on the second and fourth rows.

After FP2, topped by Franco Morbidelli, Martín began Q2 setting the pace, and after a series of crashes for other riders used his second and final outing on track to clock a 1:29.088 lap for pole position.

Only Bezzecchi, who had crashed in the session, was able to get close to Martín’s time on his closing flying lap. Acosta completed the front row, more than half a second off the top spot.

The second row is made up of ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia, Enea Bastianini and Fabio Quartararo. Fabio Di Giannantonio, Franco Morbidelli, Maverick Viñales, Raúl Fernández Marc Márquez round off the Top 12.

Repsol Honda Team riders four tenths away from Q2

Repsol Honda Team riders Luca Marini and Joan Mir took 17th and 20th on the grid, respectively for the Indonesian Grand Prix.

Marini was hoping to continue from a positive start on Friday when he took to the track in Q1. However, a crash for Aleix Espargaró had stopped several riders from setting their flying laps, including Marini. He was eventually able to claim 17th place with a time of 1:30.395, just four tenths off making it into Q2.

Mir had previously been 13th in the FP2 morning session, but was further hindered by a fall for Álex Márquez in front of him in hist last Q1 flying lap, and his 1:30.698 lap put him 20th on the grid for the Indonesian Grand Prix.
