After a wild sprint race on Saturday, the MotoGP field faced a hard-fought main race on Sunday. Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati) earned victory at the fourth round of the season. The Italian fought hard for his win, ahead of Marc Márquez in second place. Marco Bezzecchi rounded off the podium at the Spanish Grand Prix.
The Top 10 was completed by Álex Márquez, Enea Bastianini, Brad Binder, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Miguel Oliveira, Maverick Viñales and Pedro Acosta.
The World Championship standings remain tight after a crash for series leader Jorge Martín. Some 17 points separate him from reigning World Champion, Pecco Bagnaia.
The MotoGP World Championship will return to action after a week off, at Le Mans from May 10-12th.
Joan Mir recovers six positions at his home Grand Prix
The Repsol Honda Team riders ended their home race with solid results and important data for developing their bikes.
Joan Mir started from 20th place after gradually improving his feeling over the weekend. After achieving a ninth place in qualifying, he took to the track wanting to replicate that good result. The Repsol Honda Team rider overtook several rivals, sneaking into the points at the start of the race. After the halfway mark, he consolidated his pace and secured a solid 12th place.
Luca Marini did not manage to put all the pieces together to improve the performance of his Honda on Sunday, and he finished in 17th place. The MotoGP riders will have a test on Monday at the Spanish track.

Statements
Joan Mir
“We have to be content with what we achieved today. From the start of the weekend until now we have been able to improve, and I really have to say thanks to my team for their work in helping us make this progress. Today I was able to make a solid race, I think achieving the best that I could with the package that we have at the moment. Of course, the gap is still very big and we need to keep on working but tomorrow, Monday, we have a test. I am looking forward to trying what we have to understand what the next steps are.”
Luca Marini
“It was a really tough race. At the start I launched well but then there was a lot of contact in the back and we took some damage. When I tried to find my rhythm, I was much slower than I was expecting and the gap to Joan Mir was too big. We need to understand it and fortunately we have the test tomorrow. It will be important not just for the future but also for the next races. For sure Joan made a good race, but we are still far.”
