Difficult morning for the Repsol Honda team at the Red Bull Ring
After the times set by both Repsol Honda team riders yesterday, Marc Márquez and Joan Mir were forced to fight to make the cut in Q1.
Marc Márquez approached the morning with the aim of adapting to the new aerodynamics, getting the most out of his Honda. Despite having been able to push in certain parts of the qualifying session, the Spaniard did not manage to fight for pole position and will start the race in 18th, with a time of 1:29.479.
Joan Mir managed to keep up with his teammate after understanding which direction to follow with the new parts for the RC213V. Taking these sessions as a way to gain confidence on the bike, the Repsol Honda Team rider closed the session in 16th position, although he gained a place due to a sanction for Pol Espargaró and will start from 15th position.
