Sachsenring hosts the seventh round of the MotoGP season this weekend. Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati) set the best time on Friday with a time of 1:20.271, taking him and the other top ten riders into Q2.
The Top 10 was completed by Jorge Martín (Ducati), Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia), Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati), Jack Miller (KTM), Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), Luca Marini (Ducati), Enea Bastianini (Ducati), Álex Márquez (Ducati) and Johann Zarco (Ducati).
Tomorrow the riders will have a free practice session at 10:10am (CEST) before qualifying at 10:50am. Later, at 3pm, they will participate in the sprint race at the MotoGP German GP.
A day of ups and downs for the Repsol HondaTeam
After setting the second fastest time in the morning, Marc Márquez closed the day by placing himself in 14th. Following a crash suffered at Turn 1 in the closing moments of P2, he was unable to improve his time of 1:20.854. With this result, he will have to contest Q1 on Saturday.

“We have had a difficult Friday, even if it started in a good way, but we reached our limit quite soon and we need to keep working on the setup and the bike. Unfortunately, I crashed and Zarco was leaving pitlane. It was very lucky that we both escaped, I went to see Johann after to make sure he was okay. I crashed like many riders in Turn 1, I was pushing for a hot lap, and if there was anyone who could avoid the situation it was Zarco. If it’s my mistake, I always accept it. A complicated day here, tomorrow we keep trying to improve the feeling.”
