Jorge Martín (Ducati) took pole position at the Misano Circuit – Marco Simoncelli. After a morning free practice that the riders used to prepare the setup of their bikes, three riders clocked the best times in FP2: Jorge Martín (Ducati), Michele Pirro (Ducati) and Luca Marini (Ducati).
In Q1, Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) and Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) managed to move into Q2 as the fastest two riders. Jorge Martín (Ducati) set the pole time in Q2, clocking a 1:30.390.
The front row was rounded off by Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati) and Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati), while the other riders who completed the Top 10 were: Maverick Viñales (Aprilia), Dani Pedrosa (KTM), Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia), Brad Binder (KTM), Luca Marini (Ducati), Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) and Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia).
Morning of progress for Repsol Honda Team
Marc Márquez, who went directly into Q2 on Friday, managed to maintain a good pace in qualifying at the Italian track. The Repsol Honda Team rider will take off from 9th position, on the third row of the grid.
Joan Mir finished FP2 in 23rd position, then was unable to make the cut in Q1. He will start from 22nd position in both Saturday’s 3pm sprint race and the San Marino GP itself.
