When you get time off like this, what you want is to have a fun time next to the people you love
This year, Márquez is starting his holidays at the head of the Motorcycling World Championship standings, following his victory in Germany. As for Pedrosa, he’s trying to improve the sensations he gets on the Honda. Both will take advantage of working alongside the rest of the team and come back strong for the races in August.
During the holidays, the Repsol Honda Team riders take advantage of their time off to do motor sports such as supermotard, dirt track, trial and motocross. However, they also have time to lay out in the sun and relax, enjoying some of their favourite summertime places: the beach and the mountains. It’s vital to balance being in good physical condition and letting go of all the tension built up by doing a sport as demanding as the top class of motorcycling.
Marc Márquez has a clear predilection for being with his loved ones, spending time with friends and family members whilst enjoying nature and sport. “When you have some days off, what you want most of all isn’t going far away to see countries you’ve never been to before, but rather spending some time having fun and relaxing with the people you love.” These days, he doesn’t usually miss out on the chance to do Motocross or cycling with his brother, without straying too far from his hometown of Cervera. He also takes advantage of the holidays to go to the beach or the pool, always with his brother.
Dani Pedrosa, for his part, is watching the Tour de France—as he does every July—and spending time training and getting some exercise by doing motor-related sport, like Supermotard. He is also spending time riding his bike, which is one of his great passions. The Repsol Honda Team rider doesn’t disconnect too much, as he is keeping his mind on how to improve in order to face the second season of the World Championship in improved conditions. “You know that we are passionate about what we do! We are a little bit addicted, you could say.”
When they return from their holidays, it will be time to tune up for the GP in the Czech Republic. Brno is a familiar stop on the World Championship, and both Marc and Dani have managed to get to the top of the podium there before. With a little luck, if they are better rested after this break, they may grace us with a magnificent double podium, like the one they made last year in this very race.
