The competition begins on 6th January in Pisco, Lima, with a short 31 km special.
The delightful route over the first few days will run southwards along the beautiful Peruvian coast.
During the sixth stage in Arequipa, Peru, the route definitively leaves the ocean behind and heads east towards Bolivia.
Once the competitors reach La Paz there will be one rest day to prepare for two of the longest stages of the race.
