Toni Bou: “I finish with a good feeling this weekend. ”
Toni Bou took another step towards what could be his twentieth consecutive title, after winning the two rounds held this weekend in Great Britain. With this result, he has now a 31-point lead in the overall standings of a World Championship that only has the last double round in Italy to go, next September 3rd and 4th. His team mates at the Repsol Honda Team, Takahisa Fujinami and Jaime Busto, did not have a good day yesterday and finished fifth and seventh, respectively. But they both took a step forward today and finished in fifth and sixth position.
Toni Bou
“I finish with a good feeling this weekend. It was an important Grand Prix for the Championship. We undoubtedly took an important step forward to achieve the objective we set ourselves at the beginning of the year: the title. But we need to fight for it until the end, as we always said. Now we will have a deserved vacation to rest and come back strongly to Italy.”
Takahisa Fujinami
“After yesterday’s result, my aim was to end on the podium and I finished very far from it. In the first lap I started quite well, but I started to fail in the second. In the last I was nervous because I wanted to get a zero in all the zones, but it couldn’t be. The positive part, if we look at the championship, is that I have 14 points over Cabestany and it’s possible to secure the third place. In Italy, I’ll try to do it .”
Jaime Busto
“Today I started well, but then I fell and hit my leg in zone 2. Then, in the second lap, I did 5 consecutive mistakes. My leg hurt, but that’s not an excuse, because I also failed a lot. Despite the good start, I’m not happy, because this isn’t the result I wanted.”
