A crushing victory for the current World Champion, Toni Bou, in a difficult first round of the Trial GP World Championship, where she finished with nearly half the amount of penalty points received by the second.
His teammate, Takahisa Fujinami, had the first places within reach during most of the round and was able to finish in a good sixth place.
The next round of the TrialGP World Championship will take place at the Motegi Circuit, in Japan, and will have two races on June 8th and 9th.
TrialGP Italy2019 – Rider statements
Toni Bou
I’m very happy with today’s riding. Truth is that in the first lap I made two serious mistakes, as I dropped two arrows, but in the second my riding was good. I only took four points in a very complicated race and with a very slippery ground.
I want to thank the team, because we’ve worked very hard during the winter to arrive here in a strong shape.
Takahisa Fujinami
The first lap of this race in Italy went pretty bad, but in the second I was able to improve a little and up to zone 10 I was in fourth place. Nevertheless, in the last zones I made mistakes that made me go down to the sixth position.
I’m very happy with the bike. This season I also worked a lot physically, so I feel well. Now we’ll fight for the next race in Japan.
