The third round of the FIM CEV Repsol took place this weekend at the Barcelona – Catalunya Circuit, with a series of exciting races on Sunday amidst hot temperatures.
The two FIM Junior Moto3™ World Championship races in Barcelona were decided on the final corners, with Malaysian rider Syarifuddin Azman taking his first victory in Race 1 and Spaniard Daniel Holgado winning for the fourth time in five contests this year in the class in Race 2.
In the Moto2 class, Fermín Aldeguer dominated both races from start to finish, followed home by his teammate Alonso López on both occasions. In the five races held to date in 2021, the pair have five one-two finishes.
Xabi Zurutuza took his first win of the season in the European Talent Cup. In the only race of the weekend for the series, the Spaniard overtook teammate Máximo Martínez to head a podium completed by fellow title challenger Hugo Millán Gracia.
The next FIM CEV Repsol 2021 event will be held on July 4th at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, with two races for the Moto2 class and one for Moto3 and the European Talent Cup.
