The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve held the fourth round of the FIM CEV Repsol 2021 this weekend, with two Moto2 races won by Fermín Aldeguer, plus single races for the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship and the European Talent Cup.
In the first race for the Moto2 class, Aldeguer prevailed with his typical dominance ahead of teammate Alonso López. In the second race, Aldeguer again triumphed, but López dropped to third when he ran wide with two laps remaining. The double winner maintains a perfect record of seven victories from as many races.
Xabi Zurutuza earned his second victory in the European Talent Cup, and his second in a row after winning in Catalonia last time out. He now leads the standings by 8 points.
The FIM Moto3™ Junior World Championship race was interrupted on Lap 4 by a red flag, due to a rider lying in the middle of the track and a subsequent crash a lap later. With a 10-lap restart established, Joel Kelso achieved his first victory of the season, beating Daniel Holgado at the last corner. Holgado extends his lead in the overall standings, with 133 points and a 69-point advantage over his nearest rival.
The next round of the FIM CEV Repsol will be held on July 25th at MotorLand Aragón.
